CONFIDENCE CONTROLS

To learn how effective a vaccine is, you need to know the number of cases among the vaccinated and the unvaccinated.  Yet, the CDC has decided to stop counting breakthrough infections, unless they result in hospitalisation or death.   The regime is acting as if it preferred not to be aware of the situation.

On August 29, 2020, at a time when criticising the administration in Washington was still appropriate, the New York Times reported as follows:

The PCR test amplifies genetic matter from the virus in cycles; the fewer cycles required, the greater the amount of virus, or viral load, in the sample. The greater the viral load, the more likely the patient is to be contagious. This number of amplification cycles needed to find the virus, called the cycle threshold, is never included in the results sent to doctors and coronavirus patients, although it could tell them how infectious the patients are.

... One solution would be to adjust the cycle threshold used now to decide that a patient is infected. Most tests set the limit at 40, a few at 37. This means that you are positive for the coronavirus if the test process required up to 40 cycles, or 37, to detect the virus.

Tests with thresholds so high may detect not just live virus but also genetic fragments... Any test with a cycle threshold above 35 is too sensitive, agreed Juliet Morrison, a virologist at the University of California, Riverside. “I’m shocked that people would think that 40 could represent a positive,” she said...

The Food and Drug Administration said in an emailed statement that it does not specify the cycle threshold ranges used to determine who is positive, and that “commercial manufacturers and laboratories set their own.”

The epidemic seems to be managed by commercial enterprises.  Sometimes they are allowed a totally free hand.  Sometimes both government and medical businesses seems uninterested in being informed correctly.  The less one knows, the stronger will be the arguments of their defense attorneys, should the day of reckoning ever come.

Fortunately, national statistics are not run by the WHO, and data occasionally emerge about local ineffectiveness.

From the earlier Israeli effectiveness study, it appeared that there was a slight advantage in being vaccinated.  From the later results, one would conclude that it was safer, below the age of 80, not to be vaccinated.

If vaccination is 100% effective, you would find 100% of those sick with covid to be unvaccinated.

If vaccination is 0% effective, you would find 20% unvaccinated and 80% vaccinated among covid patients .

If vaccination is 50% effective, you would expect maybe 60% unvaccinated and 40% vaccinated.

So it would appear that in Israel, in July 2021, for all age groups below 80, it was safer to be unvaccinated.  Either because vaccination weakens the immune system, or because vaccination transmits the protein spikes that actually result in the constellation of illnesses called COVID-19.

That finds confirmation in certain results from Ireland, according to which, Fergal O'Doherty @ODohertyFergal tweeted that "New HPSC update came a day early this week. Main points since last week's update: -48 total COVID ICU admissions 20 unvaccinated 28 with at least one dose 23 fully vaccinated.   45 COVID deaths 0 unvaccinated 45 with at least one dose 41 fully vaccinated.                                                                                          https://www.hpsc.ie/a-z/respiratory/coronavirus/novelcoronavirus/surveillance/vaccinationstatusweeklyreports/

Thus we discover that all the people who had died had been vaccinated.  Regrettably, that link went dead.  We'll try to find a new link.

Here is a report in The Irish Times, in date November 6:

Waterford is experiencing the worst level of Covid-19 in the country because it was spared during earlier waves of the virus, a prominent general practitioner in the county has said.

Five of the six local authority areas in the county have a 14-day incidence rate of more than 1,000 cases per 100,000 of the population, meaning that in the last fortnight one person in every 100 has tested positive. Waterford City South has the highest rate in the State with a 14-day incidence rate of 1,481.7 per 100,000 last week.

Yet some 96.6 per cent of people over the age of 12 and 99.5 per cent of people over the age of 18 are fully vaccinated in the county, according to the latest figures on vaccination produced by the Health Service Executive (HSE).

Dr Niall Macnamara, who is part of the Keogh Practice in Waterford city, said vaccines are “not anything like as effective as we initially thought they might be” in stopping the spread of Covid-19.

We are able to learn that because the Irish press is still free.  Elsewhere, the media are more controlled.  Political crooks, in a return to a darker age, feel authorised to make up statistics, to pick a Jew or a witch or a NoVax on whom to blame the current plague.

Here is a good example of an accusation, which would be fraudulent if it were said now; it was false also on July 27, 2021, when Governor Murphy of NJ said: "It is a pandemic of the unvaccinated.  We think in the hospital it is 99-- literally 99.99% likely that the folks are in the hospital are unvaccinated. So we are still out there going door to door using our bully pulpit, using contest, whatever we can use to get to people, to get them to get vaccinated."

Effectiveness

The real-world studies of vaccine effectiveness measure to which extent a certain vaccine has succeeded in preventing COVID-19 infection, symptoms, hospitalization and death for the vaccinated individuals in a large population under routine conditions that are less than ideal.[547]

  • In Israel, among the 715,425 individuals vaccinated by the Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines during the period 20 December 2020, to 28 January 2021, it was observed for the period starting seven days after the second shot, that only 317 people (0.04%) became sick with mild/moderate Covid-19 symptoms and only 16 people (0.002%) were hospitalized.[548]

At first we were told, you take the vaccine, you are safe.  That's why I took the smallpox vaccine, a scratch on my arm, in the 1940's.  And later, tetanus and polio vaccine.

Now it's the new very special century, and all governments are doing their best to assure that it be the last century; geologic time would persist, but in the absence of creatures able to count winters, there would be no more need for centuries.

So, in this best of all centuries, vaccines work in very special ways: you still catch covid, but don't die of covid.  then we got the news from New Brunswick, where deaths are almost even among vaccinated and unvaccinated.  See details under Breakthrough Covid-19.

An article in The Jerusalem Post noted that "the Israeli Health Ministry reported 124 people had been hospitalized for COVID-19 on July 20 and that 65 percent of them were fully vaccinated.  Of the 124 people, 62 were in serious condition and 70% of those patients were fully vaccinated."  https://www.jpost.com/health-science/anti-vaxxers-hijacking-israels-covid-data-heres-why-they-are-wrong-674444

The Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna Covid-19 vaccines provide highly effective protection, according to a report from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Under real-world conditions, mRNA vaccine effectiveness of full immunization (≥14 days after second dose) was 90% against SARS-CoV-2 infections regardless of symptom status; vaccine effectiveness of partial immunization (≥14 days after first dose but before second dose) was 80%.[549]

“It is extremely important to suppress the pool of people that can be susceptible to the virus,” said Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla.  I thought best to seek   other citations, besides CNBC.  But the citation held.  It seems Mr. Bourla did not notice that the idea of suppressing us in the pool sounded  ominous.                                                                          https://www.cnbc.com/2021/04/15/pfizer-ceo-says-third-covid-vaccine-dose-likely-needed-within-12-months.html

Preventive measures after vaccination

While vaccines substantially reduce the probability of infection, it is still possible for fully vaccinated people to contract and spread COVID-19.[565] Public health agencies have recommended that vaccinated people continue using preventive measures (wear face masks, social distance, wash hands) to avoid infecting others, especially vulnerable people, particularly in areas with high community spread. Governments have indicated that such recommendations will be reduced as vaccination rates increase and community spread declines.[661]

It would be a shame to lose the good habits gained during lockdown, prime among them love, admiration, and prompt obedience.

Confident trust in the wisdom of our betters, our Dear Leaders: th one thing we cannot afford to lose.  After all, the freedom they promised us, after the vaccine, has come, as we are afforded a much much longer leash, until
